Empowerment refers to the “process by which the spiritual, political, social or economic strength of individuals and communities is increased in order to bring about positive change in the situations they live in.”
It is also the capacity people have to achieve a transformation through which they stop being “the object of others” and manage to become the protagonist of their own story.
My idea of empowerment is for everyone, both personally and professionally. It is the freedom to choose how we want to feel and what our attitude is going to be.
I want us to become the best version of ourselves, not through fine words and large doses of willpower and sacrifice, but by throwing out the rubbish that weighs us down, the fear, whatever stops us from being what we are called to be. The distance between our goal and our current situation is a block.
The ability to carry out an activity, to achieve a behaviour, to perform a professional skill excellently, to have a good relationship with a partner, lies not so much in what a person lacks, has to achieve, can improve or must reach, as in what they unconsciously have too much of.
It is not about doing or adding, but about removing what is getting in our way, what stops us from being everything we really and undoubtedly already are: our best version, which is in there, pushing to express itself
How? By removing the gap, the fear, the block that stops us from doing it. It is easy, simple, inexpensive and worth it.
Many people think that having dreams and achieving them is for others, that surpassing yourself is for a privileged few, for those with a special talent.
What those people have in common is that they believe they are capable of doing what they do.
I have met people who could not get on a plane, speak in public, define what they wanted, act as a boss, organise their life, say no, have good relationships, and in every case it is not that they were not born with the possibility and ability to be 100% in that behaviour or skill, but rather a fear, a belief, a programme recorded in their unconscious that is holding them back.
It may be something we were told hundreds of times as children and came to believe, a small, unimportant drama that happened in childhood but which, recorded in the unconscious, is acting in our present life and stopping us from moving forward.
Removing it is simple and the effect is immediate; it seems like magic: it was there, now it is not, and from that moment on we can choose what we want to believe about ourselves, who we are, and choose to be 100% of ourselves, and that is truly empowering yourself.
