Therapy for teenagers
Psychologist for teenagers, with a space they feel is theirs.
Your son or daughter is going through a hard time and you do not know how to reach them. I offer them a space of their own, without judgement or lectures, where they can understand what is happening to them, and where you can start communicating again.
Does this sound familiar?
Recognise what you are living.
It is usually parents, not teenagers, who call about teen therapy. These are the phrases I hear most from both sides.
- “They shut themselves in their room and we know nothing about their life.
- “They snap at the smallest thing, any question ends in a slammed door.
- “Their grades have collapsed and they do not seem to care about anything.
- “I worry about what they do on their phone and who they talk to.
- “They say they are fine, but I know they are not.
- “Nobody understands me, and my parents least of all.
How I work on it
The Conscious Decision
Programme applied to your family.
The Conscious Decision Programme applied to adolescence combines science, awareness and practical experience so that your home stops being a battlefield.
Over five sessions I work with the teenager in their own space and with the family in theirs, because change needs both parts.

Session 01
Their story and yours
I listen first to the teenager alone and then to the family. Two pictures of the same situation that almost never match, and that is where the key lies.
- An individual space without judgement
- The family's perspective
Session 02
The knot of the conflict
We find what is behind the slammed door. Anxiety, school pressure, a change of friend group, something they do not know how to put into words.
- What the symptom is covering up
- Each person's role in the dynamic
Session 03
A change of perspective
The teenager understands what is happening to them without feeling like the problem of the house, and the family moves from watching to accompanying.
When perspective changes, emotion changes, and when emotion changes, life at home changes.
Session 04
Practical reprogramming
Concrete agreements for everyday life, emotional management tools for them, and clear guidelines for you.
- Their own tools for the teenager
- Concrete guidelines for the family
Session 05
Closure and autonomy
We close with communication restored and clear signs so the family knows when to ask for support again.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about therapy with teenagers
Taking a child to therapy raises doubts and some guilt. This is what parents ask me most before starting.
What if my child does not want to see a psychologist?
That is the most common thing at first. The first session is designed for them to see that here they are not examined or lectured. Once they feel the space is theirs, the resistance usually falls.
Will you tell me what my daughter talks about in session?
A teenager's trust is the working tool, so their space is confidential. I share what you need to know in order to help, and always any situation involving risk.
Do parents take part in the process?
Yes. There are separate spaces for the teenager and for the family, because changes at home need both parts working in the same direction.
Does online therapy work with teenagers?
Surprisingly well. The screen is their natural territory, and many find it easier to open up from their own room than in an office.
